Rep thanks party members for dedication to serve

MIRI: Piasau assemblyma­n Datuk Sebastian Ting has expressed his gratitude to members of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) here for their dedication in serving the party.

Ting, who is also the SUPP secretary- general said, despite the party’s poor performanc­e in the 14th general election, the members continue to lend their helping hands in any programme or activities organised by SUPP.

“The 14th general election in May had resulted in the change of government.

“However, this does not deter the spirit of our members who continue to help the party and me in any possible way. For this, I say thank you,” said Ting when officiatin­g at a Christmas celebratio­n organised by SUPP Piasau Youth and Women sections here yesterday.

The event held at SUPP Miri Saati Hall was attended by over 100 SUPP members from various branches in Miri including Piasau, Pujut, Senadin and Lambir, as well as representa­tives from a number of Chinese cultural associatio­ns.

It aims at gathering the party members, friends and family members to celebrate Christmas and foster closer relationsh­ip.

Among the activities held during the event included traditiona­l and modern dance, singing and acting performanc­es, games and lucky draws as well as exchanging of gifts.
