KUCHING: Damai Gol f and Country Club ( DGCC) will write another chapter in its history when it plays host to the firstof-its-kind Texas Scramble Golf Tournament starting February next year.

DGCC general manager Roslan Mohd Salleh said the competition is open to club members and non- members who are allowed to form teams each comprising two players.

“The event is very popular in Western countries and it is basically an inter-team golf league event whereby the winners of individual matches will proceed to the Winners’ Pool while the losing teams will be playing in the Losers’ Pool,” he said.

“The individual matches is based on stroke- play and the teams’ final score is determined by the best results achieved by any of the playing members.

“It is therefore important for the team members to achieve the best score so that they can proceed to the winners’ pool,” he explained.

He added that the event is expected to be based on double knock- out system with the grand finals scheduled in the middle of next year.
