Edwin Siu discloses he and Priscilla Wong had married back in April
HONG KONG: Actor Edwin Siu has disclosed that he and Priscilla Wong had married back in April.
For maximum media exposure, Edwin chose to drop the bombshell during the TVB Anniversary Awards.
It was also a triumphant night for him.
Edwin’s variety show, Two Men in a Kitchen co- starring Raymond Cho won the Most Popular Partnership award.
A beaming Edwin said on stage, “I want to thank my wife, Priscilla Wong! All along, I was thinking of all the romantic things to say to thank my wife. I really thought of many things and was nervous all night. I don’t even remember what to thank you for…. But you made me learn how to take care of others better, and for me to be a man. ( Making this announcement) is a big commitment because I’m saying it in front of the whole of Hong Kong.”
After receiving the award, Edwin kissed Priscilla on stage. The cheers got wilder.
Later, in remarks made to newsmen, Edwin said they got married while vacationing in New Zealand in April.
How did the proposal go? Joked Edwin: “I proposed to her on a rollercoaster, and even found Europe’s fastest rollercoaster. But Priscilla got very scared when we reached the top. I took out the ring and told her to look, but she was too scared to look. I was afraid the ring would drop, so I stopped the proposal and my first attempt failed.”
Edwin chose not to divulge details of his second proposal. It probably wasn’t on a rollercoaster.
After registering their marriage, Edwin was trying to choose the perfect moment to break the news.
Added Edwin: “But too many happy occasions happened afterwards. Kevin Cheng got married, then Ruco Chan got married. Grace Chan became pregnant, so I never had a chance to talk. Finally, I felt today was the perfect time to say it out!”
On why he chose the anniversary awards to make his big announcement, Edwin shrugged and said: “I did the right thing tonight. We’ll have good memories of this. Priscilla didn’t know about it in advance.”
On the wedding reception, Edwin said: “We’ll think about it! We decided to get married while on vacation, so we prefer to keep it low profile!”
