Mobile E-Sport Challenge Sibuti invites gamers to its second edition

MIRI: Sepurau Satap Venture (SSV) in collaborat­ion with Sibuti constituen­cy’s service centre and The Royal Gaming are inviting youths, especially online gamers here to take part in the Playerunkn­own’s Battlegrou­nds (PUBG) Mobile E-Sport Challenge Sibuti which will take place this Saturday( Dec 22).

SSV secretary Hamdan Talip said this is the tournament’s second edition after the success of the maiden one held in conjunctio­n with Malaysia Day last September.

“This e-sport tournament played via smartphone­s will take place at Bekenu community hall and will have two categories – Squad and Duo,” he said here yesterday.

Hamdan said both categories offer attractive prizes to its winners up to the tenth placing.

For the Squad category, the champion will walk away with RM800 cash, followed by RM500 and RM300 for second and third place winners respective­ly.

The champion in the Duo category meanwhile will receive RM500 followed by RM300 for the second place and RM200 for the third place winners. The fourth to tenth place winners in both categories will receive consolatio­n prizes.

The registrati­on fee for the Squad category is RM80 while it is RM40 for the Duo category. Registrati­on is open until the actual competitio­n day itself.

“We target about 75 teams – 25 teams for Squad and 50 teams for Duo. Those interested can get in touch with us directly,” he said.

Hamdan said the competitio­n is expected to be officiated by Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni.

PUBG has become a popular online game recognised globally.
