Better Christmas for Kudei Baru Iban village
KUCHING: The community at Kampung Kudei Baru Iban, Satok will enjoy a better Christmas this year following the completion of several infrastructure projects that provide greater convenience to the people.
Village headman Sangi Abu said the completion of concrete roads and bridges at Lorong B14 facilitates movement in and out of the village.
He also said the installation of 12 street lights at Lorong B8 and B16 not only lit up the village but also ensure safety of motorists navigating the streets there.
“We want to thank Petra Jaya MP Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof for the concrete roads and bridges. We also thank DBKU ( Kuching North City Commission) for the street lights.
“I hope this village will continue to get more development from the government, and we also hope that our other requests for facilities will be approved,” he said at the village’s pre-Christmas gathering recently.
Also present were a political secretary to the chief minister Abdul Samad Ghani, DBKU mayor Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai and Anglican Archbishop Danald Jute.
Sangi also thanked Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is also Satok assemblyman, for allocating RM15,000 to the village security and development committee (JKKK).
The function also saw many senior citizens, disabled, single mothers and the poor receiving Christmas cash aid from funds provided by the Chief Minister.
