K-pop group MASC-Masculine thrills fans in first stop of Malaysia tour

-

MIRI: The appearance of Korean rookie boy group MASC-Masculine at Bintang Megamall on Sunday sent hundreds of fans screaming and cheering for their idols as they performed five singles which they launched last year.

The four members – Woosoo, Heejae, Ireah and Moonbong – were in the city for a two- day ‘ Bling’ promotional tour, their first stop of a 10- day tour of Malaysia.

From Miri, the band will head to Kota Kinabalu and Ipoh before wrapping up their tour in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 31.

After a meet-and-greet session, the band mesmerised fans with their hits ‘ Tina’, ‘Strange’, ‘I Can’t Breathe’, ‘ Why Always Me’ and ‘ Meaningless’, before having a closer interaction with fans via several games.

Managed by Lotus Entertainment, MASC-Masculine debuted in 2016 aiming to be different from other Korean boy bands in that they only have four members, aged in their mid- to late 20s, who display more maturity in their music.

Despite going through some ups and downs with the departure of a couple of its original members, the band is making a comeback with a new album since their last release a year ago. Nonetheless, the boys sent their fans into ultimate excitement during their performances with playful interaction and friendly approaches.

The name ‘MASC’ was inspired by the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome ( MERS) coronavirus outbreak that happened in South Korea in 2015.
