‘2018 an active year for SUPP Kapit branch’

KAPIT: SUPP Kapit managed to organise six activities this year.

Branch chairman Ling Thian Ing said the activities were paying a courtesy call on Kapit MP Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi and Bukit Goram assemblyma­n Jefferson Jamit Unyat; hospital visit in conjunctio­n with the Chinese New Year to present festive gifts; fellowship gathering at the residence of branch women chief Jenny Yii; presentati­on of immediate food aid to landslide victims at Rumah Gawan in Baleh and presentati­on of immediate food aid to fire victims of Rumah Nyawai at Jalan Bukit Goram and Rumah Lorrie, Nanga Ibau at Batang Rajang.

“As a component of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) we work very closely with our elected people’s representa­tives – Kapit Member of Parliament Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi and Bukit Goram assemblyma­n Jefferson Jamit Unyat.

“We are trying our best to assist those in need in times of emergency like flash floods and fire,” he said when chairing the branch’s last quarter exco meeting for the year at a restaurant here recently.

He thanked members of the main body, youth and women wings of the party branch for being very cooperativ­e and supportive of the branch’s activities, adding without their participat­ion it would be very difficult to carry out any activity.

He also thanked Nanta and Jamit for sponsoring the activities.

Among others, the meeting was attended by deputy chairman Dato Yong Hua Sying, secretary David Wong Hau Ching, women chief Jenny Yii, youth chief Tommy Wong and committee members.
