SUPP strives to provide updates on development projects in Batu Kawah
KUCHING: The Sarawak United People’s Party ( SUPP) strives to update Batu Kawah constituents continuously regarding the progress of projects to be carried out in their areas.
In this respect, representatives of SUPP Batu Kawah Service Centre would be distributing to the residents pamphlets that contain information about these projects, with the dates of implementation being among the items.
Such information would enable the residents to help in the implementation of these projects, including monitoring the project sites.
“The proposed developments for Batu Kawa are varied – they include installation of street light, upgrading works on roads, drainage and other public facilities,” said a SUPP Batu Kawah spokesperson in a statement, adding some of the projects have received government’s approval and a few others are still in the tendering process.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, who is Batu Kawah assemblyman, has been pushing for the commissioning of many development projects in his constituency since the 2016 Sarawak state election, as well as proposing new projects slated for next year – all aimed at benefitting the constituents.
“However, in view of the vastness of Batu Kawah constituency, it would not be possible to carry out effective supervision at every corner (of the project sites),” said the spokesperson, reminding that the Batu Kawah constituents are always welcome to seek assistance from the SUPP Batu Kawah Service Centre at any time whenever they encounter problems.
