Sharifah Hasidah believes Sarawakians have courage to face challenges
KUCHING: Sarawakians have the courage and determination to stand up and face it all and rise up to meet challenges, said Assistant Minister of Law, State- Federal Relations and Project Monitoring Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali.
“This is always a hopeful time, as we celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of another. While 2018 has been a bit difficult for some of us, we must look back at this year with the knowledge that brighter days are ahead of us and that although our challenges are great, I am sure we Sarawakians have the courage and determination to stand and face it all and rise up to meet those challenges” she said.
It is that spirit ( of standing tall) that has kept Sarawak alive for generations, and it is this spirit that will keep Sarawak alive for generations more, the Semariang assemblywoman said of her New Year's wish and expectation.
Her wish could not have come at a better time now that the federal and state relationship appeared strain due to Sarawak's struggle for her rights to be restored after they had been eroded - either intentionally or by design - throughout the years.
Sarawak is also an opposition state at federal level though both sides insisted that the ruling Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is friendly to the Pakatan Harapan ( PH) federal government.
