Hon Ang Restaurant opens bookings for CNY reunion dinner, takeaways

KUCHING: The Hon Ang Restaurant is now opening reservatio­n for its Chinese New Year Reunion dinner, including takeaways, up till a week before Feb 4.

There are two menus to choose – priced at RM1,388 and RM888, respective­ly, for a table of 10 – all inclusive of drinks.

Each eight- dish menu comes with ‘Yee Sang’, Stir-fried Golden Vegetables with Fatt Choy, Rice Steamed in Lotus Leaf, Fresh Prawns with ‘Sau Zhi’ Sauce and Mandarin Oranges, as well as Chinese tea or soft drinks, and peanuts or any other appetiser.

Dinner will be served at 7pm sharp. The ‘God of Wealth’ and a series of dance performanc­es would keep the diners entertaine­d throughout the evening.

For the takeaway menu, there are Shark’s Fin Soup with Crabmeat, Fresh Prawns with Sau Zhi Sauce, and Seafood Combinatio­n Soup – all available in either medium or large portion.

Medium portion is for five to six people, while the large portion caters to between eight and 10 people.

Other large-portion-only dishes up for selection are Salmon Yee Sang, Thai- style Deep- fried Golden Pomfret, Sweet and Sour Deep-fried Seabass, Braised Pork Leg with Buns, Hong Kong- style Roasted Duck, Stir-fried Golden Vegetables with Fatt Choy, Fortune Chicken with Special Herbs, Roasted Chicken and Lotus Leaf Rice.

Collection time is from 9.30am to 2.30pm. Payment for Chinese New Year Reunion dinner and takeaways must be settled at the time of booking.

For those wanting to host annual dinners, the restaurant has four ‘January Special Gourmet Set Menus’ that they can choose from – with price options at RM499, RM599, RM699 or RM1,399 (for a table of 10). Advanced booking is needed and all menus are noninclusi­ve of drinks.

Additional­ly, Hon Ang Restaurant also offers its lunch set at RM8.90 per person throughout January, from 11am to 1.30pm – Mondays - Fridays.

On the lunch menu are Chicken Chop Rice with Potato Sauce, Chicken Chop Rice with Thai-style Sauce, Curry Chicken Chop Rice and Fish Fillet Rice with Salad. Diners can also opt for additional Fried Seasonal Vegetables at RM8.90 per serving for two to three people.

This lunch promotion is only for dine-in – it comes free with Chinese Tea or Iced Lemon Drink, and a bowl of soup.

The restaurant is also promoting its ‘Chef’s Recommenda­tion’ dishes – Country Fish Head with Ba Tung Sauce in Claypot, Braised Mini Abalone with Mushroom and Fresh Vegetables, and Crispy Seafood Beancurd with Thousand Island Sauce and Salad Fruits.

The dining area on the first floor can fit 70 tables, while the one on the ground floor can accommodat­e 12 tables. The place also has five VIP karaoke rooms.

The restaurant also opens caterings for other occasions like baby’s parties, buffets, corporate gatherings, and other festive celebratio­ns.
