KUALA LUMPUR: Mother of a former minister, the late Tan Sri Jamaluddin Mohd Jarjis, yesterday filed an affidavit-in- reply against the preliminary objection filed by her son’s widow and four children to her application to obtain the faraid certificate on his estate worth over RM2 billion.

Syarie lawyer Nur Hidayah A. Bakar representing Jamaluddin’s mother, Aminah Abdullah, 85, said this to reporters after the management of the case, which was held in chambers before Syariah High Court registrar Siti Zulaiha Mohamad Mansor.

“Aminah has filed an affidavit-in- reply against the preliminary objection submitted by her son’s widow, Puan Sri Dr Kalsom Ismail and four children. The court set March 4 for next case management to enable the widow and the children to file their affidavit-in- reply,” she said.

Aminah filed the application to obtain the faraid (wealth distribution) certificate on her son’s estate on March 2 last year.

On the matrimonial claim filed by Kalsom several months after Aminah filed the application for the faraid certificate, the lawyer said the court set Feb 12 for the next case management.
