Jacky Cheung says instead of yelling, he prefers to reason with daughters
HONG KONG: Singer Jacky Cheung, 57, has his hands full getting his daughter aged 13 and 18 to be more disciplined, but he never yells at them.
Instead, he prefers to use reasoning.
Zoe, 18, became homesick while studying in England. She has just moved back to Hong Kong.
Although Jacky disagreed with her decision, he still respects it.
Jacky and former actress May Lo had married in 1996, and he figures that life at home is pretty stable. He also reckons that Zoe had moved back because she misses the loving atmosphere at home.
But Jacky is hoping that Zoe and Zia, 13, can learn some basic household chores. As it is, neither can operate a washing machine.
As for his parenting style, Jacky said he is stricter with Zia because she prefers to laze around, while Zoe is more active.
Influenced by her fitness buff mum, Zoe works out daily. As a result, the super fit Zoe is a star athlete. On campus, she has won numerous running competitions. In fact, she has even modelled for a company in an ad to promote the benefits of exercising.
On Zoe’s romantic relationships which had gone public, Jacky said he isn’t too bothered because the boys are just her friends.
Furthermore, he doesn’t mind multiracial marriages.
Quipped Jacky: “I won’t care too much, there’s no point in getting my approval. Just notify me when you have a boyfriend and it’s fine.”
