Labuan Corp officials visit Labuan Port for insights
Officials from the Labuan Corporation (LC) made an official visit to the Labuan Liberty Wharf on Monday, the island’s sole containerised port. Led by the chairman Datuk Seri Amir Hussien and chief executive officer Datuk Azhar Ahmad, the visit was to gain insights into the overall operations of the port, including the transhipment activities.

Sarawak’s internet speed to be 98 pct faster with Xiddig’s EM-IIG project
Xiddig Cellular Communications Bhd’s (Xiddig) Malaysia International Internet Gateway (EM-IIG) project aims to provide new job opportunities in Sarawak and consequently up the state’s internet speed to satisfy local demand. According to Xiddig Sarawak chairman Datuk Justin Jinggut at a briefing for local contractors on the fibre optic cable installation in Sarawak, this project will improve internet speed to make it 98 per cent faster than what is currently available here.
MPOC lambasts who over negative remarks on palm oil lobbying
The Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) has lambasted the World Health Organisation (WHO) over its claim that the palm oil industry is deploying tactics similar to those of the alcohol and tobacco industries to influence research into the health effects of its products. Describing a study published by the WHO as biased, MPOC chief executive officer Datuk Dr Kalyana Sundram said the editor of the report had slipped the biased findings through an otherwise stringent peer review process, causing concerns among academics.
