Abg Johari receives courtesy call from Maszlee, three other delegation­s

KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg received four courtesy calls at his office in the Wisma Bapa Malaysia, here yesterday.

Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik was the first to call on the chief minister and he was accompanie­d by Education, Science and Technologi­cal Research Minister Dato Sri Michael Manyin.

This was followed by a courtesy call from the Malaysian Youth Council led by its president Jufitri Joha, who said the purpose of the meeting was to explore ways to work with the Sarawak government on youth developmen­t in the state.

“We would like to have him (Abang Johari) involved in our activities as he is also passionate about youth developmen­t. During our meeting, the chief minister shared his stories about his involvemen­t in youth developmen­t in Sarawak,” he told reporters.

Meanwhile, a delegation from Huawei Technologi­es ( Malaysia) Sdn Bhd headed by its chief executive officer Baker Zhou Xin was the third delegation to meet Abang Johari.

The courtesy call was to brief the chief minister on the company’s activities in Sarawak, according to Zhou.

Felcra Berhad Cooperativ­e Board of Sarawak delegates were the last to pay a courtesy call on the chief minister, with its Sarawak Region general manager Mohd Nawawi Wahab similarly explaining the reason for the meet was to update the Abang Johari on their activities in Sarawak.
