IRB, MEF to run seminar series on taxation at 11 locations nationwide

KUCHING: The Inland Revenue Board ( Hasil) and Malaysian Employers Federation ( MEF) will be running a seminar series on ‘ Taxation 2019 – Voluntary Disclosure: What Taxpayers Should Know’ from this Feb 27 to April 2, in 11 locations nationwide.

For Miri and Kuching, the programme will take place on March 6 and 7, respectively.

This seminar is intended to increase the employers’ awareness of their roles and responsibilities in taxation, to educate employers on their liability for taxes and debts under the respective Acts, to guide them on and discuss the Special Voluntary Disclosure Program ( SVDP), and also to provide an opportunity for networking among the participants with IRB officers.

“We, therefore, cal l upon employers, taxpayers, tax practitioners, accountants, financial planners, company secretaries and directors, and all those who are interested, to grab this opportunity to attend this seminar in order to update and widen their knowledge in taxation,” said the organisers in a press statement.

Topics to be discussed during this seminar are ‘ezHasil at your Service’, ‘The SVDP’, and ‘Monthly Tax Deduction ( MTD): Expert’s Guides’.

For other locations, the seminar dates are Feb 27 in Kuala Lumpur, March 4 in Kota Kinabalu, March 13 in Kuantan, March 14 in Kota Bharu, March 19 in Shah Alam, March 25 in Alor Setar, March 27 in Bukit Mertajam, March 28 in Ipoh, and April 2 in Johor Bahru.
