Ministry expects this year a busy one

KUCHING: This is year is going to be a busy one for Ministry of Industrial and Entreprene­ur Developmen­t following the approval of RM116.65 million from the Sarawak government for its various programmes.

Its minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who is also deputy chief minister, said they would also be working hard to attract more domestic and foreign investment­s to Sarawak.

“We will continue focusing on developmen­t of industrial estates and ‘anjung usahawan’ ( entreprene­urs avenues) as RM99.77 million has been allocated for the purpose.

“We have also allocated RM9.7 million to hold various programmes for the developmen­t of entreprene­urs and small and medium enterprise­s. The remainder will be for investment promotion activities and management services,” he said at the ministry’s Chinese New Year gathering Wednesday evening.

Awang Tengah also told the ministry staff to practise efficient working style and always be resultorie­nted in their service delivery.

He said this was important in order to give lasting impression on investors, traders and the public.

“I am very happy with the achievemen­t of the ministry staff members especially with the 98 per cent customer satisfacti­on rating given by stakeholde­rs and five star rating by the Treasury Inspectora­te,” he said.

Assistant Minister of Entreprene­ur and Small and Medium Enterprise Developmen­t Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais and the ministry’s permanent secretary Datu Liaw Soon Eng were also present at the event.
