Michelle Chen portrays Teresa Teng in new drama
TAIPEI: Michelle Chen will be portraying iconic singer, Teresa Teng, in the upcoming Mainland Chinese drama, ‘Only You: Teresa Teng’. The drama will start airing in May.
In 1995, Teresa passed away when she was only 42 years old due to an asthma attack. However, her legacy still lives today through her beloved songs. The 60 episode series will bring back nostalgia to Teresa’s fans, as the production team will feature over 10 of her classic songs including “Sweet as Honey”, “Small Town Story”, and “Only You” in the drama.
With respect towards Teresa, many celebrities have promoted the new drama through their social media platforms. Michelle wrote in a recent post, “Thank you Ms. Teng for your warmth and love. Your music will be passed on for generations.”
Many fans are excited to see how Michelle will portray Teresa’s character. In 2016, Michelle married actor, Chen Xiao, and welcomed their son. She shared that she would practise singing while taking care of her son since her husband is working too. The family has a wonderful dynamic as they would visit each other on set with their son.
When asked if they would want another child, Michelle responded that since she and her sister are five years apart, she wants her children be five years apart as well.
She doesn’t mind the gender, and would be grateful if her child is happy and healthy.
