MIRI: The warm condition at Miri Polyclinic due to several damaged air conditioners is causing discomfort to visitors.

Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting, who visited the polyclinic early yesterday, said the problem must be resolved promptly without any delay.

“This is not how we want our polyclinic to be. When it is crowded, it will be very hot and will cause discomfort to the visitors who come from all over Miri,” he said.

Ting urged the federal government, specifically the Health Ministry, to resolve this problem without delay for the sake of those seeking treatment at the clinic.

“We cannot delay this matter and it must be done immediately, and I hope it can be repaired within a month. I will come and check the condition here again next month and if it’s still not repaired, I will help to get it done,” he said.

Although there about seven air conditioners at the waiting area of the polyclinic, only three are working. In addition, some of the fans are also not functioning.

“The ‘ tauke’ helped to service all the air- cons for free. The problem now is that the broken air- cons were not replaced.

“We hope this issue will be resolved soon by the government because we do not want patients to be in such uncomfortable condition, especially in this warm weather,” she said.
