Education Expo to help students pursue tertiary education

SARIKEI: SMK St Anthony’s Guidance and Counsellin­g Unit, in collaborat­ion with Academic Consultant Sibu, is holding ‘Education Expo 2019’ at the school’s main hall from 8am till noon today (March 5).

According to a statement issued by the organising committee, a total of 24 public and private institutio­ns of higher learning had confirmed participat­ion in the expo.

They include Swinburne University of Technology, Curtin University, City College Plymouth ( PDVL), UCSI University, SEGi College Sarawak, UCTS, The One Academy, RIAM Institute of Technology, Methodist Pilley Institute, Fajar Internatio­nal College, Sunway College Kuching, Laila Taib College, Asia Pacific University, Essential Advisory, ITA College, Technology College Sarawak, Internatio­nal Medical College, The University of Nottingham Malaysia, HELP University, Pusat Pembanguna­n Kemahiran Sarawak, FAME Internatio­nal College, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, Institute Pendidikan Guru Kampus Rajang and PTPTN Cawangan Sibu.

The programme aims to increase awareness of tertiary education opportunit­ies and also help students choose and match their qualificat­ion with entry requiremen­ts for the various courses offered by colleges and universiti­es for better future employabil­ity.

Students who sat for last year’s SPM and STPM examinatio­ns are encouraged to explore opportunit­ies offered during the brief educationa­l programme.
