Smart Reader Kids holds Chinese cultural activities as part of Lunar New Year do
KUCHING: Smart Reader Kids recently held six Chinese cultural-related activities for about 300 students as part of their annual Chinese New Year celebration.
These included ‘Lantern Word Guessing’ session, ‘Picking Up Groundnuts with Chopsticks’ competition, ‘ Eating Mandarin Oranges’ competition, board games, Parents and Students Chinese New Year Fashion Parade, group Chinese cultural performance and Chinese New Year singing session.
AIM Smart Academics (a subsidiary of Smart Reader Worldwide) business development and operations manager for East Malaysia Norma John said that these activities help students to interact with each other and boost their self- confidence when performing in public.
“Plus, these Chinese culturalrelated activities are important, as they act as a platform to instil understanding and appreciation of culture and tradition amongst young children,” she stated in a press statement released yesterday.
She added that the Lantern Word Guessing session was a creative and fun way to encourage young children to expand their vocabulary.
The activities were held in six locations, namely Vivacity Megamall and Emart Batu Kawa here, Star Mega Mall in Sibu, The Spring in Bintulu, Centre Point Sabah in Kota Kinabalu and Kompleks Ujana Kewangan in Labuan.
