Schools, firms, NGOs encouraged to do satellite shaves

-

MIRI: Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) welcomes schools, companies, and NGOs wanting to organise satellite shaves at their respective venues as a way to encourage more people to shave their heads for a noble cause.

According to its president Jocelyn Hee, the requirement per satellite shave is RM5,000 and it could be held at premises of the organising groups between March 1 and June 30 (except for weekends in May).

“For schools, the students must complete the ‘ Parental Consent’ form and submit them to their satellite coordinators before the event. Students are also encouraged to obtain written permission from their schools before participating in Go Bald event,” said Hee.

Applying for the satellite shave, she said, would require the satellite shave coordinator to pick up the pledge cards, and must specify the location and other information.

There are three methods of channelling the fund to SCCS – raising funds online, donation via cash or cheque, and donation via bank-in.

Those wanting to raise funds through crowdfunding must set up an account at simplygiving.org and choose SCCS as the beneficiary, and label Go Bald as the project name.

For donation by cheques the beneficiary must be Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society.

For bank-in, the donors need to get a copy of the bank-in slip and submit the pledge card along with the donor’s information. Donation can be made to SCCS’ Maybank account 5612 5700 0858.
