ECiM combines academic excellence with a first-class British boarding experience

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Epsom College in Malaysia ( ECiM), situated on a 50-acre site at Bandar Enstek, south of Kuala Lumpur, is an extension of Epsom College in the United Kingdom which was founded in 1855 and has a long history of educating Malaysians and international students.

A press release stated ECiM follows the English National Curriculum with all subjects taught in that language.

The Senior School for students aged 11-18 years is both a day and boarding school whilst the Prep School is for day pupils aged 3–11 years.

Students sit for GCSEs and A-level with the majority going on to study at prestigious UK universities.

ECiM combines academic excellence with a first class British boarding experience. Eighty-five per cent of the Senior School students are boarders. They create a family environment within a structured school routine, with a traditional British House system fostering a strong feeling of belonging and community.

ECiM is also delighted with the performance of its first cohort of graduates. At A-level, 73 per cent of its students achieved grades at A*- B, whilst 59 per cent at A*/A.

“This is an outstanding set of results from students from a range of academic backgrounds and clearly demonstrates that the college is adding considerable value to these students’ level of attainment,” the statement added.

The most popular universities for their Sixth Form leavers include London School of Economics, University College London, Imperial College, Warwick, Bath, Bristol and Exeter.

Thirty per cent of the students achieved a place on a course ranked in the top ten in the UK.

Not only did the students secure places on prestigious courses at excellent universities, they also, more importantly, are doing courses that they really want to study: 87 per cent of their students went to the university of their first choice on their chosen course.

In 2017, ECiM is thrilled once again to report outstanding Alevel results, where their students achieved over 86 per cent A*- B grades and over 60 per cent A*/A grades.

The pass rate was 100 per cent. One third of the year group achieved all A* or A grades. Almost all students have gained entry to their first choice Russell Group universities, including LSE, Imperial College, UCL, Durham, Edinburgh, Warwick and Exeter.

In 2018, ECiM achieved another splendid set of A-level results. Half of all A-level grades scored either an A* or A grade and nearly 25 per cent of all A-level grades attained an A*. Seventy-three per cent of all results secured A*-B grades, and the ratio for A*- C grades was an excellent 88 per cent.

As a consequence of these outstanding results, their Sixth Form leavers accepted university places at prestigious UK institutions including LSE ( Economics), UCL ( Economics), Imperial ( Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering), Nottingham ( Law), Southampton ( Engineering) and Warwick ( Economics) in addition to universities in the US.

Meanwhile, more information on Epsom College in Malaysia is available at MMS Education Fair which will be held in Kuching on Saturday ( March 9) at Pullman Kuching from 1pm- 6pm.
