Pustaka Miri to organise 3-day knowledge camp

MIRI: Pustaka Miri is inviting pupils between the ages of nine and 12 to join its annual Knowledge Camp, scheduled to run from March 22 to 24.

According to Pustaka Miri spokesperson, the main objective of the event is to make the library a fun place for learning beyond the classroom.

“Besides that, it will able to provide another alternative venue for the participants, who come from different races and backgrounds, for social interaction,” the spokesperson said.

She added that the camp would be filled with fun learning activities, with participants and their mentors camping out on the library’s open courtyard.

“The campers will be divided into teams and participating in activities including ice- breaking, information literacy skills class, gardening, motivational sessions, outdoor games, storytelling sessions, campfire, ‘ Mystery Night’ in the library, and a fitness session.

“Then, the event will be concluded with a talent show by all teams and the prize- giving ceremony where all participants will receive certificates and hampers, before bidding farewell to their mentors and facilitators,” the spokesperson said.
