Pustaka Miri to organise 3-day knowledge camp

MIRI: Pustaka Miri is inviting pupils between the ages of nine and 12 to join its annual Knowledge Camp, scheduled to run from March 22 to 24.

According to Pustaka Miri spokespers­on, the main objective of the event is to make the library a fun place for learning beyond the classroom.

“Besides that, it will able to provide another alternativ­e venue for the participan­ts, who come from different races and background­s, for social interactio­n,” the spokespers­on said.

She added that the camp would be filled with fun learning activities, with participan­ts and their mentors camping out on the library’s open courtyard.

“The campers will be divided into teams and participat­ing in activities including ice- breaking, informatio­n literacy skills class, gardening, motivation­al sessions, outdoor games, storytelli­ng sessions, campfire, ‘ Mystery Night’ in the library, and a fitness session.

“Then, the event will be concluded with a talent show by all teams and the prize- giving ceremony where all participan­ts will receive certificat­es and hampers, before bidding farewell to their mentors and facilitato­rs,” the spokespers­on said.
