Ling Leh Ping elected president of Palliative Care Sibu

SIBU: Ling Leh Ping was elected president of Palliative Care Sibu (PCS) at its inaugural annual general meeting (AGM) held at the clinical campus of SEGi University Faculty of Medicine in Sibu Hospital recently.

Others elected to various postsatthe­AGMwereMar­greth Wong Si Yung (vice president), Patricia Ting (secretary), Joyce Wong (treasurer), Jakie Ting (assistant secretary) and Song Hua Hung (assistant treasurer).

The inaugural committee also comprised Prof Mohd Raili Suhaili, Rose Kong Hun Teh, Sanggui Kasi, Priscilla Lau and Lau Duh Chang.

PCS was registered as a nongovernm­ental organisati­on ( NGO) with a vision to ensure patients facing lifelimiti­ng illness and those with permanent or prolonged disabiliti­es as well as their caregivers enjoy a quality life. One of its missions is to promote the developmen­t and advancemen­t of excellent palliative care in Sibu in partnershi­p or collaborat­ion with hospitals, government agencies, other NGOs and the community in general.
