Tee Off Club edges closer to quarterfin­als

KUCHING: Tee Off Club took a major step towards securing a quarterfin­al berth in the KGS- OBYU Team Match Play Championsh­ip after posting their second victory in Group B.

They outplayed DGA Kaban 41 at the Matang and Santubong Nines last Sunday and now sit on top of the group standings with six points after two games.

In second spot are Hojipala with three points followed by KGS Junior Team and DGA Kaban with one point each.

Blue Lobsters 3.0 are also making good progress as they edged the all- South Korean team KPGA 3-2 to collect seven points from two wins and a draw in Group C.

In the same group Cahya Mata registered their first victory when they edged Hanking Warriors 3-2. They are third with three points behind Hanking Warriors who have four points from one win and one draw.

Meanwhile, HGA also scored their first win in Group A when they beat Harmoni 3-2 in the day’s other match.

Titans are the leaders in Group A with six points whereas J& J5 and HGA have three points each and bottom of the group team Harmoni have failed to collect any points following three consecutiv­e losses.

The competitio­n continues this Sunday with Titans looking for their third straight win when they take on J& J5. KGS Junior Team will play against Hojipala while KPGA will face Cahya Mata.
