SUPP hosts free educational talk, counselling session today

MIRI: Sarawak United People’s Party ( SUPP) is hosting a free education talk and counselling session today ( March 16) at Piasau branch here from 7pm onwards.

SUPP Youth Higher Education Counselling team secretary Rachel Voon said in a press release yesterday that three speakers and representatives from Curtin University, Sarawak campus; Fajar International College, Riam Institute of Technology and UniCentre International Education here will brief Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia ( SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia ( STPM) school leavers on further education pathways.

“School leavers may be unsure about which path they should take and the options available to them. Thus, the talk will enlighten them on what to expect and how to work their way towards that direction,” Voon said.

She added that it is equally important for students and parents to review various study options based on their financial situation before making any decision.

“We hope to provide sufficient options to those from middle and low-income families with scholarships and study loans to ease their parents’ financial burden,” said Voon.

The programme is a collaboration between SUPP Central Youth Higher Education Counselling team and SUPP Senadin Youth Wing. programme.
