VSC commemorat­ive stamps on offer at Matta Fair

KUALA LUMPUR: Some 400 copies of the Visit Sarawak Campaign commemorat­ive stamps first day cover are now available at the Sarawak booth of Matta Fair in Putra World Trade Centre here.

Sarawak Tourism Board, in a press statement, said the cover stamps are offered for free to those who buy Sarawak packages or participat­e in activities and games at the booth during the three-day fair which ends today (Sunday).

“We are encouragin­g stamp collectors to come and purchase the packages offered or participat­e in activities at the booth to add these iconic Sarawak stamps to their collection,” the statement added.

Alongside the free stamps, a special folder featuring Sarawak’s iconic tourism attraction­s as well as uniquely styled envelopes with Sarawak-themed designs are also offered for free.

Meanwhile, Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Datuk Lee Kim Shin recently gave away the commemorat­ive stamps to Matta fair visitors who participat­ed in the puzzle game at the Sarawak Pavilion.

Also present during the event was STB chief executive officer Sharzede Salleh Askor.

Meanwhile the statement said POS Malaysia has also launched its Tourism Destinatio­n stamps which featured Sarawak and Melaka, and the set of stamps are available at all post offices throughout the nation.

The features on the stamps include elements of culture and nature, unique to Sarawak, such as a traditiona­l Orang Ulu longhouse, pua kumbu designs and a Bidayuh dancer.
