Dayang signs MoU with two firms

Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd’s (Dayang) wholly-owned subsidiary Dayang Enterprise Sdn Bhd (DESB) entered into a memorandum of understand­ing (MoU) with two firms to undergo projects in Melaka. In a filing on Bursa Malaysia, Dayang announced that DESB entered an MoU with PKNM Energy Sdn Bhd and Main Velocity Sdn Bhd. The MoU aims establish a cooperatio­n and collaborat­ion in exploring, securing and operating any projects in Melaka relating to oil and gas, energy, engineerin­g and civil works, constructi­on and developmen­t.

Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd’s (CMS) first Coastal Road job is a sign of more to come as analysts believe that the group will stand to benefit from more upcoming infrastruc­ture projects across Sarawak. On Wednesday, CMS announced PPES Works (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd (PPES Works) and China Communicat­ions Constructi­on Company (M) Sdn Bhd (CCCC) joint venture, PPES Works CCCC JV Sdn Bhd (PPES Works CCCC JV) received and accepted a Letter of Acceptance from the Sarawak State Government for ‘Package 05: Proposed Constructi­on And Completion Of The Proposed Bintulu - Jepak Bridge’ crossing Kuala Kemena, Bintulu Division for a contract sum of circa RM467 million.

Primary Industries Ministry targets 10 pct increase in local palm oil use

The Primary Industries Ministry targets a 10 per cent increase in the use of palm oil and its products through the ‘Sayangi Sawitku’ campaign. Its minister Teresa Kok Suh Sim said local use of palm oil products currently stood at 20 per cent while about 80 per cent was for export markets.

EU’s delegated act “discrimina­tory”, designs to hurt livelihood­s

Primary Industries Minister Teresa Kok has lambasted European Union’s (EU) Delegated Act where palm oil is classified as “high risk”, calling the act discrimina­tory and designed to hurt the livelihood­s of millions of small farmers. Palm oil producing countries including Malaysia she said, has consistent­ly outlined the facts that the Delegated Act is based on inaccurate and discrimina­tory factors.

KIA to have new cargo complex soon

A new cargo complex will soon be establishe­d at the Kuching Internatio­nal Airport (KIA) to replace the present cargo terminal which is currently at overcapaci­ty. Assistant Minister of Transporta­tion Datuk Dr Jerip Susil said a 43- acre land near KIA has been identified by Malaysia Airports Berhad (MAB) for the new complex which will be equipped with modern facilities akin to what is available at Kuala Lumpur Internatio­nal Airport and Penang Internatio­nal Airport.
