MIRI: Forty pupils of SK Kampung Tunku Abdul Rahman in Lambir received new school uniforms from a group of donors, led by the Sibuti branch of Parti Keadilan Rakyat ( PKR) Women, yesterday.

Additionally, the donors also presented incentives to two pupils, Danielleo Jeffry and Christino Nyipa, who will represent Sarawak at the upcoming Malaysian Schools Sports Council ( MSSM) Championships 2019, to be held in Negeri Sembilan.

It is learnt that the two are among 22 pupils from various primary schools who will be representing Sarawak in the Negeri Sembilan sports meet.

“We can see the happiness in the children’s faces upon receiving the assistance.

“We hope that there will be more NGOs (non- governmental organisations) and individuals coming forward to assist in this endeavour,” said National PKR Women executive committee member Zulhaidah Suboh, who is also Sibuti PKR Women chief.

On the contributions, she said the key objective was to lessen the burden of the parents or guardians who are caring for many school- going children.

She also said the pupils are from Rumah Genatan, Rumah George and Rumah Kujan in Lambir.

“We also hope that all these pupils would be keen to go to school and study, and want to earnestly gain knowledge,” she added.
