Masir clarifies he was partyless when he joined PSB

KUCHING: Sri Aman MP Dato’ Masir Kujat clarifies that he has resigned from Parti Rakyat Sarawak ( PRS) before deciding to join any of the Pakatan Harapan component parties or Parti Sarawak Bersatu ( PSB).

The former Parti Rakyat Sarawak ( PRS) vice president stressed in a statement yesterday he was already partyless when opted to join PSB.

“I am issuing this press statement in answer to the many statements by leaders of PRS attacking my decision to join PSB. I resigned from PRS before I joined PSB.”

“My reason for resigning from PRS is well known to the leaders in PRS. Any PRS leader who claims to be ignorant of my reasons for leaving is not being candid,” said Masir.

He added that he took time to weigh his options carefully after resigning from PRS.

“Obviously, I could not join any component party of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) so the choice was either PSB or a Pakatan Harapan component.”

Masir said he joined PSB because he considered it is the best party for him to fight for Sarawak rights and for the people in his parliamentary constituency.

Joining PSB would also allow him to continue to support the present Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and his administration.

“Support for the Chief Minister as well as Sarawak rights is an important issue which made me decide to join PSB instead of PH,” he explained.
