Sarawak Bomba Operation Movement Centre (PGO) spokesperson said the victim, 55, was found by members of the public at a shelter by the roadside of Sedarat Panjai, Betong at about 1.23 pm yesterday.

“The victim is currently safe and had been taken to Engkilili health clinic in a Bomba vehicle for further treatment,” the spokesperson said a statement yesterday.

It was understood that the missing person report was lodged last Friday after an attempt to locate the woman since last Wednesday was not successful.

“Based on the information, the victim’s family tried to locate her but was unsuccessful.

“They then lodged a police report on March 22 and requested for help,” said PGO spokesperson.

Personnel from Betong Bomba immediately initiated a search and rescue operation (SAR) when the missing person report was received.

Members of Malaysian Civil Defence Force, Police, villagers and the victim’s family members joined in the search. The operation ended at 2.15pm yesterday.
