rural communities in Sarawak,” she said during the official launch of the campus yesterday.
The RM55.6-million Infra Sarawak campus project reached completion and handed over to the ministry in October last year. The training institute is tasked with ensuring the human capital development of rural communities would be realised through training, research and studies.
Meanwhile, Rina congratulated the 140 community leaders who had completed their professional rural development training, and who had received their diplomas during a convocation ceremony held earlier.
She said they were fortunate to be receiving their scrolls during the official launch of the campus.
The 140 ‘ trainees’ – mainly chairmen and secretaries of village security and development committees (JKKKs) – commenced their training at Infra Sarawak on March 4.
The programme was conducted in collaboration with Universiti Kuala Lumpur ( UniKL).
The Infra Sarawak campus comprises an administrative block, academic block equipped with auditorium, lecture halls and computer lab as well as hostel and canteen.
