Cooperate with us in keeping town safe, Bintulu police chief calls upon residents
BINTULU: The people in Bintulu must continue working hand-inhand with the police in order to keep the town safe and conducive to living.
Bintulu police chief Supt Zulkipli Suhaili said as one of the frontline organisations protecting the country from threats, the police force would be able to perform more effectively and efficiently with the strong support and cooperation from the public.
He made these remarks during the 212th Police Day gathering at IPD Bintulu yesterday.
According to Zulkipli, being members of a key institution tasked with safeguarding the country, police personnel must be united as a team to face all challenges and threats to the country’s security, peace and sovereignty.
“I urge policemen in Bintulu to work on our transformation towards greater policing services in line with the passage of time.
“The Industrial 4.0 revolution requires our team to be ready in the aspect of knowledge and our sensitivity to the current issues, in facing the diversity of crimes not only physically, but also the cybercrimes,” he said.
Zulkipli said though history had proven that the police force had made big sacrifices for the sake of the country’s stability, he reminded all policemen against resting on their laurels because now, they are not only encountering domestic crimes and violence cases, but are also fighting against international crimes and other subversive activities and militants.
“From this gathering, it is my hope that all of us can be inspired on the importance of peace, prosperity and unity to guarantee a harmonious life.
“For IPD Bintulu team, it is hoped that from this gathering we can have a self- reflection to embrace the spirit of ‘Sang Saka Biru’, which is based on adherence to the laws and loyalty to the leadership.
“Let us translate it into excellence and effectiveness of our service not only to the people in Bintulu, but also to the country in general,” said Zulkipli.
Among those present at the gathering were Samalaju assemblyman Majang Renggi and Tanjong Batu assemblyman Chiew Chin Sing.
