TMT expects to grow revenue to RM440 million in 2019
KUALA LUMPUR: IT retail chain TMT by Thunder Match expects to grow 2019 revenue by 10 per cent to RM440 million from last year’s RMRM400 million.
The higher estimated revenue comes on the back of higher sales expectation from the opening of its largest outlet in Plaza Low Yat, with a monthly target of 10,000 visitors.
Managing director Adrian Yu said the opening of the 13,000 square feet store was in line with TMT’s strategy to focus on the online-to- offline (O2) business model which enabled customers to place orders online and collect purchases at the store.
“Usually, for IT goods and gadgets, customers would make their survey online, and then proceed to a store to examine and experience the use of a product before making a purchase.
“Customers who buy at our official TMT website, or on our online stores in e- commmerce platforms such as Shopee, can collect their purchases at our outlet here,” he told Bernama News Channel at the Plaza Low Yat’s store’s launch, recently.
Yu said previously, the chain had difficulty in making deliveries because it did not have the resources to fulfil its online sales requirements, and the opening of the outlet would help facilitate online sales.
“This store will function as our logistics hub as there is sufficient room here to store various products and help improve our efficiency when making deliveries to online customers,” he added.
Sales director Eric Chan said the store would also carry home automation Internet of Things ( IoT) devices, such as smart vacuum cleaners, wireless close-circuit television cameras, smart lights and smart loud speakers.
“Although IoT products are new to Malaysia, they have high market potential due to the convenience to users when carrying out daily household chores,” he said.
Chan also said TMT was also looking into e- sports with the launch of its “Game On” campaign, which offered gadgets, mobile phones, computer components and accessories with affordable prices at its stores.
“With 82 outlets nationwide, TMT aims to give customers the best shopping experience by offering genuine products, memberships, affordable prices, extended warranties of up to two years and a training centre on how to use computer equipment and programmes.
“With the large variety of products offered, such as laptops, computer accessories, printers, cameras, monitors, loudspeakers, smart phones and e-sports equipment, we hope to be Malaysia’s premier IT retail chain,” he added. — Bernama
