Panas FC must win to stay in S’wak Central Zone Soccer League

-

SIBU: Panas FC do not mind the underdog tag when they take on the much fancied Project in the Group A match of the Sarawak Central Zone Soccer League this Sunday at prison field here, starting 2.15pm.

Bottom placed Panas FC need a win to keep their campaign on track, having lost to Medical Sibu recently.

Second placed Project would dislodge Nazario BNG from pole position if they win.

Panas FC coach Zulkipli Rosli said: “We will go into the match as underdog for it is undeniable that their ( Project) players are much more experienced.

“We don’t have any specific strategy or approach ( against Project) but will certainly give our level best when taking them on this Sunday.”

In another thrilling match this Sunday, second placed TMP SB will face KGMR in Group B clash at 4pm.

TMP SB manager Noriswandi Unop hinted that he has made some changes to the first 11 line-up. Two weeks ago, TMP SB scrapped through a narrow win over Real Eleven.

For Sunday’s match, TMP SB will be without two of its key players.

“One has an urgent commitment, while the other is down with an injury,” he lamented.

“Nevertheless, we will be all out with the line- up that we have,” Noriswandi asserted.

Another match tomorrow is between Group D leaders P 206 FC and Kastam Sarikei at 4pm.

P 206 FC manager Abdullah Tinggal said Mohd Hadera will partner Mohd Ridhuan upfront, while Mohd Ainil and Mohd Izzat will be in the midfield.

The five- month league which ends on July 28 is jointly organised by Nangka Social, Culture, Sports and Unity Secretariat , PBB Youth Sibu and Nangka Service Centre.

Prize money for the top four teams are RM15,000, RM5,000, RM2,000 and RM1,000.
