Nicolas Cage annuls fourth marriage after just four days
LOS ANGELES: Actor Nicolas Cage has fi led to annul his fourth marriage after only four days.
On Mar 23, Cage and girlfriend Erika Koike got married in Las Vegas. It was the same day they obtained the licence.
Court documents obtained by newsmen show that Cage had the marriage annulled four days later on Wednesday, Mar 27. Koike has not been served with the legal papers yet.
The court record also shows that Cage, 55, has requested for a divorce if an annulment isn’t possible.
The couple has been together since last April. Cage was previously married to Alice Kim, Lisa Marie Presley and Patricia Arquette. Alice Kim is the mother of their son Kal-El. He also has a son, black metal musician Weston Cage, with Christina Fulton.
Cage’s annulment request comes as footage of the actor’s bizarre behaviour while applying for a marriage licence in Las Vegas surfaced online.
In the video, Cage appears worse for wear and can be seen muttering to himself before raising his voice at Koike, telling her he “isn’t doing it”.
An eyewitness said: “The whole time he was yelling ‘she is going to take all my money’ and ‘ her ex is a druggie, her ex is a druggie’.
“The woman only kept saying ‘ Baby I am not asking you to do this’.”
The witness added that Cage appeared “most likely drunk” and “very out of it”. It was Cage’s fourth marriage. Cage is known to be a serial visitor to the marriage altar. He fi rst proposed marriage to Patricia Arquette when she was 18. She said no at the time but proposed to the actor nine years later.
Faced by rumours they had only been married for nine months before separating, Arquette told UK newspaper The Daily Telegraph in 2015 while their relationship had been tumultuous they had acted as a married couple for their six year union.
“There were times when we weren’t living together because we were fi ghting, but it wasn’t as reported and I didn’t feel that I needed to explain that. There were times when my mum was dying (from breast cancer in 1997) and I was living with her, taking care of her,” she said.
“There were times when he was away working on a movie. It was our thing. I still don’t feel like I owe it to anyone. It’s funny when people are so wrong, and they put you in this position and decide who you are.”
Following their split, he started dating Lisa Marie Presley. The pair wed in August 2002, but they fi led for divorce just three months after their secret wedding in Hawaii, according to People.
