After the completion of the current project to renovate the school’s hostel under his Rural Transformation Programme ( RTP) the next project would be repairing the running track, Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting said when visiting the school yesterday.
“Currently, the project that commenced at a cost of RM159,000 covering the renovation of male hostel including replacing the ceiling panel, constructing proper septic tank, internal and external repainting work, resurfacing floor slab with paint and the construction of brick wall partition is going on according to schedule.
“Though there is a bit of hiccup with the progress, the project is progressing smoothly and shall be completed on schedule,” Ting told reporters.
He added that apart from the hostel renovation, he had submitted the proposal for a roofing project linking the school’s two multipurpose halls.
“However, I was told that the principal Michael Bus had been approached by Assistant Minister of Housing and Public Health Dr Annuar Rapaee, who had something else in mind for the school. Hence, I will shift the proposal to another project which is the running track, and hopefully it could be approved and commence soon,” he said.
Meanwhile, Michael informed that the school has about 2,240 students, who had been working very hard in achieving good results in sports and academic.
“Despite the old infrastructure, the teachers are dedicating their time and effort to train our athletes. I am sure that they would be very grateful for the renovation so that they could have better infrastructure to train for their next game,” said Michael.
