S’wak eye repeat of JDT II display against Kelantan

-

KUCHING: After holding JDT II to a 1-1 draw in Larkin last week, Sarawak’s focus is now towards subduing Kelantan when the two sides clash in the Premier League this afternoon at Stadium Negeri in Petra Jaya.

A similar performance is needed against the Red Warriors and interim coach Mohamad Denny Dai’al is targeting a win in his effort to move the Crocs away from the drop zone.

“I want the players to maintain their momentum as in the match against JDT II,” he said when met during a training session yesterday.

“A delay in the FA Cup fixture with PDRM on Saturday was indeed a blessing in disguise as it gave our players enough time to rest and get ready for the match.

“It adds tonic to our team’s preparation to face Kelantan. To me, the home match is important and we want to win it so that we can improve our position in the league,” he added.

According to Denny, he will field his best possible lineup and strategy to ensure all three points against Marko Kraljevic’s men.

He also warned that Kelantan are still a major force and a threat despite their current uncertainty in the league.

“We respect Kelantan and they definitely wanting to get points here,” he said.

Sarawak’s imports Muamer Salibasic and Benedict Martin meanwhile are still unavailable as they are struggling with injuries.

The match will start at 4.15pm.

Sarawak are ninth in the league with four points after six games, three points above the relegation zone.

Kelantan are two points above the Crocs in eighth.
