“The programme was designed to boost interest and confidence in the usage of English language in rural schools as mastering the language will be an essential skill for students hoping to be successful in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics ( STEM) studies,” the statement added.

One of the programme highlights is the students’ motivational session entitled ‘ Being a Successful Student in the Era of Digital Economy’that will be conducted by one of Azam members Telemachus Lo.

Apart from that, Azam Toastmasters Club will also conduct ‘ Boost Your English for Success’, which is a series of interactive sessions with students that aims to enhance their confidence in learning and using the English language.

Sharkawi Yassin who is one of Azam’s board members will be moderating the panel session which aimed to share knowledge on motivating and guiding students in their education pathways, especially with regard to helping address the current needs and future demands in the digital economy.

The programme will also see Azam donating about 500 new and pre-loved English language reading books to the three participating primary schools as part of Azam’s initiatives to encourage young students to read, learn and master the English language.

The first book donation drive which started in early February received generous contribution from Azam members, Azam Toastmasters Club, Azam Young Souls, Azam staff, and MyBookstore Sdn Bhd in Petra Jaya, here.
