UEM Sunrise’s Aurora Melbourne Central tallest in CBD

-

KUALA LUMPUR: UEM Sunrise Bhd has undertaken the topping out of the Aurora Melbourne Central at 289 metres (m) Australian Height Datum (AHD), to become the tallest building in the Melbourne Central Business District (CBD).

Malaysia’s leading property developer and master developer of Iskandar Puteri, along with Australian Tier 1 contractor Probuild, celebrated the “topping out” of Aurora Melbourne Central at a ceremony at the building’s rooftop previously.

In a statement yesterday, UEM Sunrise said Aurora Melbourne Central, an 88- storey mixeduse development comprising 959 residential apartments, 252 serviced apartments, office suites and premium retail space, has now reached its structural peak, towering over the CBD’s current tallest tower, The Rialto, at 270m AHD.

Managing director/chief executive officer Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib said this was not only a major milestone for UEM Sunrise, being the company’s second project to top out in Australia in the past 12 months, but also a testament to the growth of Melbourne’s prospering CBD.

“Aurora Melbourne Central is UEM Sunrise’s flagship development in Australia, so it is a very important moment for us to see it structurally reach its peak. It is a testament to the work of all parties involved in the project,” he said.

The project, he said, would create more than 500 ongoing opportunities for employment upon its completion and had seen over 3,000 jobs created during its construction.

Anwar Syahrin added that the construction of the final stages of this landmark project was expected to be completed in August this year, and the development was 100 per cent sold, with 95 per cent selling out in just two weeks of launch to local and international buyers. — Bernama
