‘GPS MPs ask for further review on amendment Bill, not rejecting it outright’
LIMBANG: The parliamentarians from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) are not rejecting the Bill proposing for amendment to Article 1(2) of the Federal Constitution, but are merely asking the Parliament to put it on hold for a more thorough review.
In stating this, Limbang MP Hasbi Habibollah also points out that his fellow GPS parliamentarians are asking for Sarawak’s rights to be discussed in the Special Cabinet Steering Committee on Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
“The GPS MPs, in the recent Dewan Rakyat sitting, had asked the Parliament to postpone the amendment to Article 1 (2) – they did not reject it, as opposed to what was being viralled on social media,” he told reporters after officiating at the Malaysian Armed Forces Veterans Association (PVATM) Limbang branch’s annual general meeting (AGM) yesterday.
Sarawak Veterans Affairs Department deputy director Capt Farizal Hassim, Limbang Resident representative Aspalela Shamuni, PVATM Sarawak president Jaini Mohamad, and PVATM Limbang chairman Junaidi Kamit were also present.
