secretary Dr Gregory Hii Sui Cheng; and Seosa president Teresa Lau, were also present at the event.
Meanwhile during the Shosa annual general meeting (AGM) held prior to the dinner, a resolution was passed to support the initiatives to remember the late Rev Br Albinus O’Flaherty, the iconic former principal of Sacred Heart School who had touched the lives of so many individuals.
Shosa president Yong King Sung also called upon former students to protect the school from ageing and decay by contributing to its upkeep and maintenance.
“The re- development of Sacred Heart School in 2002 came at a hefty price tag, due to the massive works and poor soil conditions.
“Now almost two decades later, signs of ageing are apparent and thus, former students should take up the challenge to raise funds, meant for the much-needed maintenance.
“This would be another way of preserving the memory of Br Albinus, who once strode through the hallowed halls of Sacred Heart,” Yong added.
Moreover, Shosa had also listed a series of activities – from naming a road here after Br Albinus, to organising an annual run, sports or academic event to honour the iconic former principal.
In this respect, Shosa members were asked to vote – all 800 ‘Sacred Heart Old Boys’ who were present at the AGM roared their approval.
In addition, it is learnt that for next year’s reunion dinner, the date is fi xed for March 28.
