Vocational College holds students’ fashion show
SIBU: Sibu Vocational College held a students’ fashion show at University College of Technology Sarawak ( UCTS) here recently.
Coordinating the event were Nadisah Abdul Wahid, Rashidah Abdul Wahed and Clementines Luat who teach at the college.
“There were evening dresses, casual wear and warrior outfits designed by 25 students under the theme ‘Wonderful Embellishment’ at the college’s fifth fashion show under Fashion Design Department,” Nadisah told a press conference on Monday.
“This event is a compulsory part of the course to train students entrepreneurial skills, fi nancial management, event management besides fashion designing,” she added.
Noor Neena Rumping won the Best Designer award for his warrior outfit which was a chef’s uniform turned into casual wear.
The panel of judges included a renowned designer from Rozie Khan Couture.
The fashion show was organised in collaboration with the parentteacher association of the college, with support from sponsors including Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira.
Head of Academic Management from the Sibu Educational Office Jerome Harry officiated at the function.
Meanwhile, the college has signed a memorandum of understanding ( MoU) with Ranggimong Boutique Enterprise for a fashion design programme at the college.
A similar MoU was signed with Roses Hair & Beauty Salon for a cosmetology programme at the college.
