Vocational College holds students’ fashion show

SIBU: Sibu Vocational College held a students’ fashion show at University College of Technology Sarawak ( UCTS) here recently.

Coordinati­ng the event were Nadisah Abdul Wahid, Rashidah Abdul Wahed and Clementine­s Luat who teach at the college.

“There were evening dresses, casual wear and warrior outfits designed by 25 students under the theme ‘Wonderful Embellishm­ent’ at the college’s fifth fashion show under Fashion Design Department,” Nadisah told a press conference on Monday.

“This event is a compulsory part of the course to train students entreprene­urial skills, fi nancial management, event management besides fashion designing,” she added.

Noor Neena Rumping won the Best Designer award for his warrior outfit which was a chef’s uniform turned into casual wear.

The panel of judges included a renowned designer from Rozie Khan Couture.

The fashion show was organised in collaborat­ion with the parentteac­her associatio­n of the college, with support from sponsors including Tamin assemblyma­n Christophe­r Gira.

Head of Academic Management from the Sibu Educationa­l Office Jerome Harry officiated at the function.

Meanwhile, the college has signed a memorandum of understand­ing ( MoU) with Ranggimong Boutique Enterprise for a fashion design programme at the college.

A similar MoU was signed with Roses Hair & Beauty Salon for a cosmetolog­y programme at the college.
