FMM Sabah to support JPSM

-

KOTA KINABALU: The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) Sabah Representative Office will continue to show its support for the Human Resources Development Department (JPSM).

This comes as the Sabah representative office received a courtesy visit from JPSM led by its new director, Zainudin Aman and its delegation to FMM Sabah Office in Alamesra, Kota Kinabalu on April 8, 2019.

Zainudin in his remarks during the visit said that JPSM under the State Education and Innovation Ministry set-up Trade and Technical Training Institute (ILTP) that offers fully funded technical and trade programmes for local SPM leavers. The two main campuses are ILTP Papar and ILPT Muis, Kota Kinabalu.

The ILTP Papar campus provides eight technical programmes whereas, ILPT Muis, Kota Kinabalu is offering seven trade programmes. Both campuses are running in full capacity with the total of 330 students. FMM members who want to know more about programmes offered, please visit JPSM website at www.jpsm. sabah.gov.my.

It was no surprise that from JPSM’s track record almost 75 per cent of its students are absorbed into the employment upon completion of programme. Amongst the top marketable programmes are chargeman AO, welding, electrical wiring and maintenance, automotive, executive corporate secretary and office management and office management supervision.

JPSM also provides short courses programmes under the Bantuan Tajaan Latihan Kemahiran (BTLK) - reflexology, sewing, tourist guide, culinary and diving instructor programmes.

Apart from that, JPSM who is managing the Sabah Job Centre portal is calling all FMM members to register and advertise all current job vacancies for free in the portal.

FMM Sabah chairman James Ha strongly urged all members to utilise these resources and services as it not only help member companies to resolve semi-skilled manpower issue but reduce the unemployment rate in the state.

FMM Sabah members who want to get more information may contact JPSM directly at 088-218722 or via email at webmaster.jpsm@ sabah.gov.my or can also contact FMM SRO Secretariat email at fmmsabah@fmm.org.my.
