KAPIT: Bukit Goram assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat recently inspected one of the recently completed cement road projects implemented in his constituency.

He was at Jalan Masam, Simpang 4, KM4, Jalan Pelajau to see the just-completed cement road which benefited some 30 families residing in the area.

Previously, the houses on the terraced slope were linked by gravel road. During rainy days, the road was muddy and slippery causing great inconvenience to the residents.

Their hardship came to the knowledge of Jamit and after visiting the site, he approved RM150,000 for the construction of a cement road from the junction of Jalan Bukit Goram to the houses on the terraced slope, which was completed recently.

Garai Entili, the former Kapit District information officer on behalf of the people residing at Simpang 4, thanked Jamit for his concern in providing the grant.

“On behalf of the people at Jalan Masam, Simpang 4, I wish to express our sincere thanks to you YB Jamit. The cement road has greatly benefited us because now it is comfortable for us to use the road which previously was fi lled with potholes and uneven surface during the rainy days which was quite dangerous to us, especially those driving small cars and motorcycles,” said Garai.

Garai pledged their undivided support to Jamit in the coming state election.

On his part, Jamit said his priority is to develop Bukit Goram constituency.

“It is my duty to serve my constituency. Thanks to the caring Gabungan Parti Sarawak government led by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, I am able to help the constituents with their needs to enhance their standard of living through the Rural Transformation Programme ( RTP) and Minor Rural Project ( MRP) grants,” he added.
