Ming Cym Funeral Services holds opening ceremony

MIRI: Ming Cym Funeral Services and Ming Cym Funeral Parlour Services here Friday held their opening ceremony where the guests of honour Pemanca Yong Hui Seng and Piasau assemblyma­n Datuk Sebastian Ting released 49 small birds to mark the occasion.

Pemanca Yong in his speech appealed to all funeral-related companies here to practise fair competitio­n in a free market environmen­t and continuous­ly improve their services and win the trust of the people.

The Chinese community leader also called for respect of all religions.

“I hope that everyone will live together in harmony as we know on the road of life, everyone must go through the process of life and death,”he said.

Pemanca Yong also added that from the perspectiv­e of commercial trade, the business opportunit­ies related to life and death are vast as the world’s population increases.

He also said the funeral parlour could also be used for families of the deceased to hold prayer service and gathering.

During the opening ceremony, Ming Cym Funeral Services and Ming Cym Funeral Parlour Services presented donations to 11 bodies and oganisatio­ns which included Riam Road Middle School, Pei Min Middle School, the Roman Catholic Church, Miri Methodist Church, Miri Gospel Chapel, The Borneo Evangelica­l Mission (BEM), Miri Buddhist Society, Miri Old Folks Home, Miri Tua Pek Kong Temple, Miri Red Crescent Dialysis Centre and Miri Chinese Associatio­n.

Located at the cemetery opposite King Commercial Centre at Km1 Miri-Bintulu road here, Ming Cym Funeral Services and Ming Cym Funeral Parlour Services occupy the former Indian cremation site and located just next to the Anglican cemetery.

The funeral parlour houses several mourning and prayer halls.
