Excitement over Serba Dinamik’s third Bintulu Service Centre

Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd’s ( Serba Dinamik) prospects are said to be stronger following the rental of its third Bintulu Service Centre for 1.5 years to cater to the firm’s higher job flow. The new service centre will be mainly utilised to service the five-year onshore maintenanc­e, constructi­on and modificati­on ( MCM) contract secured from Petronas Carigali Bhd in February this year as well as the Shell MGS contracts.

FMM Sabah to support JPSM

The Federation of Malaysian Manufactur­ers (FMM) Sabah Representa­tive Office will continue to show its support for the Human Resources Developmen­t Department (JPSM). This comes as the Sabah representa­tive office received a courtesy visit from JPSM led by its new director, Zainudin Aman and its delegation to FMM Sabah Office in Alamesra, Kota Kinabalu on April 8, 2019.

KPJ on track with expansion plans, including East Malaysian outlets

KPJ Healthcare Bhd ( KPJ) is on track with its expansion plans nationwide, including its outlets in Sarawak is slated for opening by the second half of financial year 2019 (2HFY19). To note, KPJ opened KPJ Bandar Datuk Onn in Johor Bahru in February this year9 and is expected to open KPJ Miri, KPJ Kuching and KPJ Batu Pahat hospitals in 2HFY19.

Sales tax wi l l make S’wak’s petroleum products uncompetit­ive

The Pakatan Harapan ( PH) federal government has claimed that the Sarawak government’s five per cent sales tax would make petroleum and petroleum products from Sarawak less competitiv­e. Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said the tax would affect the marketing prospects of Sarawak’s petroleum and petroleum products.

“This is because additional tax will render petroleum products exported from Sarawak more expensive and less competitiv­e compared to products produced in other petroleum-producing states,” Lim said in a reply to a question raised by Sarikei MP Andrew Wong Ling Biu in Parliament.

SEDC, Shan Ying of China sign MoU on pulp and paper plant in Samalaju

Sarawak Economic Developmen­t Corporatio­n ( SEDC) and Shan Ying Internatio­nal Holdings Co. Ltd (Shan Ying) of China had entered into a Memorandum of Understand­ing ( MoU) in China recently to collaborat­e on and explore the viability of establishi­ng a pulp and paper plant in Samalaju, Bintulu. The MoU signing ceremony was held in Ma’anshan City, Anhui Province of China on April 3.
