Technological innovation exposure

-

THE recent years have seen the emergence of technology particularly Artificial Intelligence (‘ AI’) getting pronounced to the point where it is expected to change human lifestyle in the not- too- distant future.

Some of the common terms that we hear nowadays such as robotics, big data, machine learning and internet of things will soon be part of our lives and redefine the way we work as well.

Many scientists and researchers in various countries are putting in considerable amount of time to research and fine- tune the latest technological innovation to shorten the time to market.

This is a global phenomenon and the only way forward is to embrace and capitalise on it.

Against this backdrop, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (‘TAR UC’) has taken a step forward in embracing technological innovation with the establishment of the Integrated Innovation Hub or I2 Hub which was launched on August 1, last year.

The I2 Hub is the pivotal point for TAR UC to synergise latest developments in technology towards greater enhancement in education and learning.

By integrating the relevant expertise from different faculties within TAR UC, the I2 Hub acts as a catalyst where creative innovations and ground- breaking applications are discovered especially in its 4 areas of focus which are Smart Campus for Education 4.0, Industry 4.0, Agriculture 4.0 and Corporate Social Responsibility (‘ CSR’) services.

What is more important is that through the I2 Hub, TAR UC students have the opportunity to work hand- in- hand with their lecturers in various real- life industry and research projects which expose them to the latest trends and developments taking place in the industries today.

Cashierbook is a project under I2 Hub which involves the participation of TAR UC students.

Cashierbook is an app which utilises Social Media Analytics and Blockchain technology to enable super- fast and highly secured intelligent e- commerce transactions.
