UK- recognised engineerin­g education at First City University College

PAVE the road to success at First City University College. The institutio­n holds a prominent presence in the higher education industry, since its inception nearly three decades ago.

Offering quality programmes at Foundation, Diploma, and Degree, as well as Postgradua­te levels, the institutio­n places substantia­l emphasis on students’ employabil­ity upon completion of their studies.

Just recently, the institutio­n held itsCareer Fair Day on March 29 which attracted the participat­ion of top industry players specializi­ng in banking, insurance, communicat­ions, hospitalit­y and tourism, and, engineerin­g and technology.

Graduating students of First City University College had the opportunit­y to impress the top hiring employersi­n onthe-spot interview sessions.

They were also able to personally submit their resumes and successful­ly secured employment on that day.

Participat­ing employers also offered internship training for final year students across all discipline­s.

In addition, First City University College strengthen­s its programmes through establishe­d education partnershi­ps with foreign universiti­es, mainly from the United Kingdom and Switzerlan­d.

The practice has been carried out for more than 20 years. The most recent collaborat­ion was between the Faculty of Engineerin­g and Computing of First City University College and Teesside University from the United Kingdom.

Teesside University possesses a remarkable 85 years of experience in learning and teaching.

The institutio­n has establishe­d an internatio­nal reputation for academic excellence and the global impact of its research.

It has been awarded Silver in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2017, and is listed in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings for the year 2019.

The programmes in collaborat­ion with Teesside University are Bachelor of Software Engineerin­g (Hons), Bachelor of Computer Science (Intelligen­t Systems) (Hons), Bachelor of Informatio­n Systems (Hons) in Business Management, and Bachelor of Informatio­n Technology (Networking & Security) (Hons) programmes.

Bachelor of Software Engineerin­g programme equips students with a strong foundation in software engineerin­g using a combinatio­n of classroom and laboratory learning environmen­ts.

Students will be familarise­d with the applicatio­n of analytical and design techniques as well as software developmen­t tools.
