Remain strong supporters of GPS for more devt, Baram folk advised
MARUDI: People in the state constituencies under Baram parliamentary constituency – Telang Usan, Marudi and Mulu – must remain united in their support for Gabungan Parti Sarawak ( GPS) led by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in order for underdeveloped Baram to be under the ‘ radar’ of the state government for more development that they have been craving for.
Telang Usan assemblyman said it makes a big difference when a constituency is represented by somebody who is from the ruling government or party.
“As a matter of fact, all the developments or events that we see or experience taking place all over in the three state constituencies is because we your representatives in the state government could sit and talk with our chief minister, his three deputies and other members of the State Cabinet,” Dennis said.
Dennis made the remarks at the grand final of the Baram Agro Fest 2019 Beauty Contest at Marudi Town Square on Saturday night.
Among the about 3,000 spectators were Marudi assemblyman Datu Dr Penguang Manggil, who is Assistant Minister of Local Government; Marudi district officer Mackos Sibong; Miri agriculture officer Jackson Nanta Bernabas Bai; Marudi District Council chairman Edward Mendai, heads of government departments and community leaders.
Dennis further advised Baram people to always practise and uphold teamwork, make friends and always have a positive attitude.
“With these traits, Baram will be able to move positively forward by attracting state leaders’ attention and likewise other related agencies.
If we like to go against the state government or always propagate hatred among the rakyat with lies or falsehood, at the end of the day the rakyat will lose,” Dennis added.
